The study director has overall responsibility for the technical conduct of the study, as well as for the interpretation, analysis, documentation and reporting of results and represents the single point of study control. Serves as the study director for in vitro genetic toxicology studies (GLP). Prepares and develops protocols and schedules tests/studies. Critically evaluates, analyzes, and interprets data and presents in a clear, well-organized, scientifically sound report. Understands test methods used and can provide testing strategies to address potential genotoxic findings. May serve as study director for other biocompatibility (in vivo/ in vitro) studies as needed. Has direct sponsor contact.
Education
Requires a Bachelor of Science in a scientific discipline; Master of Science strongly preferred.
Experience
Must have a minimum of 5 years previous study director, laboratory or quality assurance experience. Project management experience required.
Requirements
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in analysis of scientific data, experimental design, technical writing, organizational and communication skills beyond a basic level. Must understand the test methods used for genotoxicity studies to be a resource for sponsors, Associates at NAMSA, and other scientists that conduct regulatory genetic toxicology tests; must also be able to interpret genotoxic results, and provide guidance regarding test strategies. Must have the ability to effectively interact with sponsors/clients.
