Primarily responsible for providing toxicology guidance to study directors, toxicology staff, and clients on technical issues. Provides recommendations during the protocol development and report generation process. As a technical expert, assist the laboratory in analysis and interpretation of data. In the event of adverse test results, assist client in impact assessment and identification of the next course of action. In the event of a test system failure, assists in failure investigations indentifying root cause, and corrective and/or preventative action. Identifies and develops ways to improve the technical/scientific skills and professional competency of study directors and other scientific/technical Associates. Participates in audits by clients or regulatory bodies. Addresses technical observations or recommendations and implements corrective and/or preventative action where necessary.
Education
Requires a PhD in Toxicology; Board certification (DABT) preferred.
Experience
Requires a minimum of 10 years related experience.
Requirements
Working knowledge of applicable guidelines and regulations including GLP, QSR, ISO 9000, AAALAC, FDA, and USDA. Previous experience working in a medical device or pharmaceutical industry must have a sound understand of toxicology and/or the scientific basis for testing performed at NAMSA. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, applied business and organizational skills.
