The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the streamlined operation of the IT department and to ensure it aligns with the business objectives of the organization. The Director of Information Technology will plan, coordinate, direct, and design all operational activities of the IT department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. The Director of Information Technology will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science or information technology. Master’s degree in either of these fields or Master’s of Business Administration with technology as a core component preferred.
Experience
Minimum 10 years related work experience including 5 years managing and/or directing an IT operation and 5 years experience in a regulated work environment.
Requirements
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Working knowledge of wide and local area network technologies and laboratory related equipment. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
